Performing arts by children, for children, or with children – course at the Art University Helsinki, March 13–22, 2026

The University of the Arts Helsinki Open University is offering a two-credit course entitled Performing Arts for Children, about Children, or with Children during the spring semester. The course is organized in collaboration with the Bravo! festival.

Excerpt from the course description:

"Children and childhood open up a special area in the performing arts. The course examines the current state of performing arts aimed at children and briefly also its history and related special features.

During the course week, we will attend performances from the Bravo! festival program and discuss how the topics covered in the course were reflected in the performances. Through the course, you can either strengthen your existing expertise and find context for your work, or start as an artist from scratch with issues related to children.
