Creative movement exploration for babies and toddlers

Helena Krinal: Creative movement research for babies and toddlers (ESTONIA)

Recommended age: babies aged 15–24 months accompanied by an adult
Duration: 45 min

Wed 18 March at 10:15 a.m. Toteemi, Vantaa Tickets
Sat 21 March at 12 noon Pessi, Vantaa Tickets

In the workshop, babies explore different objects and movements that develop coordination, balance, and fine motor skills, as well as encourage creativity and curiosity. At the same time, adults learn more about children's behavior, worldview, and expression—before they can speak, children communicate through movement. The workshop is led by Helena Krinal, a dance teacher from Estonia who specializes in early childhood dance education.

The workshop is led by Helena Krinal, who holds a BA in dance education and has taught children and adults of all ages in Palestine and internationally for over ten years. Her teaching is based on the methodology of baby dance classes developed by Birutė Banevičiūtė (Dansema Dance Theatre, Lithuania). Banevičiūtė holds a doctorate in dance education, and her artistic and pedagogical work is based on research into dance perception in early childhood.
